FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fall 2008 Club ElectionsThe following changes have been made to the club leadership as a result of our elections at the summer BBQ.Gastonia RFC has three levels of leadership. GRFC Board - these individuals help manage the business of the club and ensure that rugby continues to grow in Gastonia. Prior to the summer elections, the board consisted of three people. Dan Gilbert, Mark Kelley, and Uli Bruns. At the summer elections it was proposed and approved that we add a fourth person to the board. Todd Albala was then proposed and approved as this fourth board member. Administration positions - these are coordinating positions for the teams playing under GRFC. The main positions are the club administrator, and the match secretary. Anthony Longo has been confirmed in the club administrator position, and Todd Albala as the match secretary. These positions work with the club board, and the team leadership to coordinate activities, the club administrator keeping track of members, coordinating meetings, and handling internal club communication. (Getting people to the right place at the right time.) The match secretary coordinates the playing schedule and game reports for the season. Team Leaders - these positions lead the team on the field while playing. They help the coach during practices to ensure that we are focusing on the right things, are the team's representatives in dealing with referees, and run the offense and defense during games. The fall 2008 team captain is Anthony Longo, and the back's captain is Mike James.
With these recent changes the club management structure is:
